About Me

Gillian Treacy
Gillian Treacy
BA (Hons) H.Dip (Hons) Psych. Dip.ECI
I work as a Personal and Professional Life Coach, based in Bandon town, 25 minutes from Cork City.
Before spreading my wings as an independent coach, I worked for many years facilitating adults in an educational setting in my capacity both as lecturer and course co-ordinator.
My approach to coaching is informed by a synthesis of perceptual modalities studied over two decades, combined with personal life experience:
A formal education in Photographic Studies (BA Hons – First Class, Integrative Psychotherapy Studies Higher Diploma – First Class), combined with training in Energy Healing, Shamanic work, Life and Business Coaching and most recently postgraduate study in Unitive Life Coaching as a private student with foremost UK Life Coach Dr Charles Bentley.
Formal education stimulated my intellect and taught me that the external world is a projection of our internal world.  I excitedly learned that perception is mutable, and once our internal perceptions change, our external reality changes also.  Further training taught me that Perception is not limited to seeing, hearing and thinking, but also to feeling on multiple levels – physical, energetic, emotional and spiritual.
Challenging personal life experience motivated me to integrate these teachings to aid my understanding and use them not only as survival skills in times of great stress, but also as tools for transformation towards thriving, as opposed to merely surviving, in the world.  Too often, we are caught in the crossfire of our own internal conflicts, too confused or afraid to move either backwards or forwards.  My coaching ethos is based on a respect and empathy for others and the belief that we all deserve to live to our full potential, and have the innate wisdom and capacity to fulfil our life purpose once we accept ourselves as no more or less flawed or talented, than anyone else.  Each of us has unique issues to learn from and talents to foster.  The following  quotation  from Jack Kornfields A Path With Heart eloquently describes our capacity to learn to grow as human beings
“When we finally look at horror and joy, birth and death, gain and loss, things, with an equal heart and open mind, there arises a most beautiful and profound equanimity.”
Every negative perception of ourselves and our lives can be balanced by a positive – awareness is the key to understanding, and understanding the key to the freedom to act on our innermost dreams.
